I was never a big fan of Korean dramas (I love Jdramas even more). But when I was watching this series (during the long weekend), I told myself, “I guess I’m a fan after all ^^.” Heartstrings a.k.a. You’ve Fallen For Me is a 2011 Korean drama series which starred CN Blue Band Leader, Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye.
Here’s the plot from wiki:
Lee Shin is a university student majoring in modern music. He is also the vocalist and guitarist of the band “The Stupid.” Shin is known for his good looks, cocky personality, and strong passion for music. Everyone sees him as a cold-hearted person, but he’s actually soft inside. He lacks interest in anything unrelated to music and has neither dreams nor plans for the future. He initially likes Jung Yoon Soo, a dance professor at university, but this all changes when he meets Lee Gyu Won.
Lee Gyu Won is a bright and outgoing student who was born into a prestigious family and is majoring in traditional Korean instruments, especially the gayageum. Kyu Won’s grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional music prodigy. Trying to live up to her grandfather’s expectations, Kyu Won immerses herself in training and becomes a university student who knows nothing outside of her studies. As her friends are fans of “The Stupid”, she was forced to go to the band’s concert with them. There she saw Lee Shin performing live, and is immediately captivated by him. From there, the two begin a romantic relationship that makes the viewers’ heart beat.
It really made my heart beat especially when Shin started falling in love with Gyu Won. Cold-hearted Shin started to show his soft and sweet side. ^^
Shin added a cushion on his bicycle so that Gyu Won could seat comfortably (this was after their school trip ^^).
They even bought couple’s bear phone chains (with their respective musical instruments – gayageum for Gyu Won and Guitar for Shin) even though Shin dislike couple stuffs. Eventually, Shin took Gyu Won’s chain and exchanged it with his.
I just watched it from dramacrazy, but since I just can’t get enough of Lee Shin and Gyu/Kyu Won, I downloaded the series at mehanata site. I also love the soundtracks. And yes, I also downloaded the tracks. Check it at Alice-chen’s world. ^^
Here’s Shin singing the OST of the series: You’ve Fallen For Me. ^^
Here’s Gyu Won singing the OST of the series: The Day We Fell In Love. ^^
The series also introduced me to CN Blue, a Korean rock band which consists of Jung Yong Hwa (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Lee Jong Hyun (lead guitar, vocals), Lee Jung Shin (bass guitar, vocals) and Kang Min Hyuk (drums, vocals). Yong Hwa (Lee Shin) and Min Hyuk (Jun Hee) were both cast from the series. I really love their songs. Hopefully, I will have a separate post for them soon. ^^
The series will be aired on ABS-CBN starting January 2, 2012. I think it will replace Helena’s Promise. Too bad it’s not on prime time. >_<
